Our Corporate Services Champions are recognised for achieving something exceptional that benefits our patients. It could be through their commitment and dedication to our Trust and their colleagues, for delivering efficient and high-performing services or successfully implementing change that improved a service. Here’s what their colleagues wrote about them in the nominations.
Chris is a guardian of our patient information processes, working hard to make sure printed patient information requests are turned around quickly and are checked and ratified.
Chris does a brilliant job, day in, day out with little acknowledgement. The Print Centre makes a huge difference to our staff and patients and Chris is a lone soldier in there, single-handedly providing all of the Trust’s printed materials.
Anyone in the organisation can request work directly from Chris, so he cannot predict his workload but always delivers copies of patient information leaflets, posters and other printed materials as efficiently and quickly as he can.
He is also a guardian of our patient information processes, working hard to make sure that colleagues share information that has been checked and ratified recently.
Believing passionately in the NHS, Chris goes beyond expectations to help facilitate requests and always does his absolute best in his role. He is a fantastic colleague to work with.
In every aspect of her role, Essie works tirelessly, taking difficult situations in her stride with a can-do attitude and a big smile.
Essie has always been a star to all those who work with her. Her big smile and helpfulness in all areas of the Estates department are a familiar feature.
Essie always takes difficult situations in her stride, particularly when it comes to car parking concerns. She has been instrumental in organising the Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) inspection for both staff and volunteers, which has been a huge undertaking for the department over the last year. She is the go-to person for colleagues wanting to know anything related to Shared Business Services (SBS). In every aspect of her role, she works tirelessly and has a brilliant can-do attitude.
A fabulous organiser, Essie is a lovely person to work with, always happy to help. Each year she receives high praise from the department’s external representatives and she is highly thought of by colleagues within the Trust.
Despite the potential sadness of his work, Mark is always thinking about improving the service the team offers, coming up with inventive ways to bring sunshine into lives.
Mark, together with all of the Spiritual Care team, has a very challenging job supporting end of life patients. He is a wonderful person for people to lean on when they need support and is always thinking of new ways to improve the service.
Inspired by a patient who spent seven months in Royal Surrey at the end of her life, Mark recently devoted his spare time to putting together a practical and thoughtful book to help those patients coming to terms with their death, 'Me – A Journal for My Journey'.
Mark’s journal style book, which has lots of space for patients to write funeral wishes, life reflections or messages to their family, has already proved helpful, with a 100 copies printed for Trust patients, thanks to funding from Royal Surrey Charity.
