Sponsored by Royal Surrey Charity, this award recognises colleagues who have provided exceptional support to our charity, whether this is by dedicating their time and expertise or by raising valuable funds for the charity to reinvest in our Trust.
This team comprises Ian Erridge, Programme Manager for the Cancer & Surgical Innovation Centre, and Geeta Aggarwal and Tim Pencavel, Joint Chiefs of Service for Surgery. Over the past few years, they have shown extraordinary dedication in their support for the charity, going above and beyond in every way.
Their remarkable contribution to the Cancer and Surgical Innovation Campaign, as well as the more recent Cut Out Cancer (Rotary Club) Campaign, has been nothing short of inspiring. Focused on securing funds for cutting-edge equipment and technology for our surgical teams, their efforts have been tireless.
In their own time, during evenings and weekends, they have engaged with potential supporters by presenting at local meetings, attending networking dinners, and hosting events to champion the life-changing impact of the new Cancer and Surgical Innovation Centre. Their passion has been instrumental in raising vital funds, and their advocacy for both the Trust and the charity has been invaluable. Thanks to their efforts, our patients will benefit immensely from their support.
Phil has always been a valued advocate and supporter for Royal Surrey Charity, contributing in many impactful ways – including personally delivering gifts to our community sites.
Since Pledge a Present, an annual campaign which delivers over 600 gifts to patients on Christmas Day, first launched, Phil enthusiastically gathered a team of “HR Christmas Elves” to help distribute these gifts. Year after year, he continues to support this fantastic initiative, often leading the charge around the wards wearing a cheerful festive turkey hat. He also personally delivers presents to Haslemere and Milford Community Hospitals.
Beyond the Christmas appeal, Phil dives into other charity efforts with the same enthusiasm. For the past two years, he's participated in Royal Surrey Charity’s annual Stride for Cancer Care walk, raising vital funds for the Cancer Centre. For his incredible contributions and genuine care, Phil truly deserves to be nominated for this award.
The Phlebotomy team has truly gone above and beyond in their support of the Royal Surrey Charity, and raised more than £4k in the last two Stride for Cancer Care events!
Eager to make a difference, they have organised teams to take part in the last two Stride for Cancer Care events, with team members, friends and family taking on the 5km and 15km sponsored walks. Their commitment to raising vital funds for our Cancer Centre is truly inspiring.
The Royal Surrey Charity is immensely grateful for their enthusiasm, dedication, and for embracing these charity events with such passion. In the two years that they have taken part, they have bought joy to the event, epitomising what it means to be a team and raising an incredible £4,100 for the Cancer Centre.
