Appointments

First appointment

Your first appointment at the hospital will be with an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeon in the ENT department in Outpatients 8, Level B, in the main hospital. They will examine you and may suggest an examination or scan (as detailed on the diagnosis page). The results will take approximately two to three weeks. You will then be invited back for a face-to-face follow-up appointment with the same doctor or one of their team to discuss your results.

Specialist clinics

If cancer is diagnosed, you may be seen in a specialist head and neck cancer clinic which runs every Thursday morning in the same department.  The purpose of this clinic appointment is to discuss the treatment options available for your cancer. This clinic brings together experts from oncology, maxillofacial Surgery, and ear nose and throat (ENT) to provide a comprehensive specialist care.

Alongside your consultant(s) and your clinical nurse specialist (CNS), you may also meet dietitians and speech and language therapists.
