Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine involves introducing a small dose of a radioactive substance into a patient’s body before conducting a scan using a specialist camera. The images taken are then used to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases, including cancer. The use of these radioactive substances, also known as radioactive tracers, is closely monitored by our experienced team of highly skilled specialists.

Nuclear  Medicine is mainly used as a diagnostic tool. The most common scans/tests we perform are:

  • Bone Scans
  • Renal Scans
  • Thyroid scans
  • Parathyroid scans
  • Heart scans
  • Brain scans
  • Lung Scans
  • SeHCAT study
  • GFR tests
  • Gastric scan
  • Lymph scans
