Our Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs) are at the heart of the care that you will receive from the moment that you are diagnosed and throughout your cancer journey. The cancer centre has more than 30 CNS’s who are registered nurses with specialist knowledge and skills who care for people with cancer.
Your CNS will be your key worker throughout your treatment, providing you with invaluable support as well as building a detailed knowledge of your specific care needs. They will help you to navigate the large amounts of information you will receive, as well as support your decision making around your care and treatment. Your CNS will also be available to discuss any concerns that you have about your treatment, investigations, surgery, recovery and life after treatment.
You can find out more about the CNSs who will support by visiting our A-Z guide of cancer type. The CNSs for each tumour group, including contact details, can be found by clicking on the Our Team button.
Cancer care co-ordinators support the CNS team and wider MDT in providing holistic support for you and your family, carers and loved ones. They aim to support you and your pscyho-social concerns, and can signpost you to the necessary support agencies. They also support the navigation of appointments and your treatment logistics.
