Private Obstetric Care

We know that choosing how your maternity care is provided is an important part of your preparation for parenthood. Our private maternity service offers personalised care with an experienced obstetric consultant. Your care plan will be tailored to meet the needs of you and your baby including direct access to your consultant for out-of-hours support and emergency care.  

At your initial consultation, your consultant will create a personalised care plan with you including which private care package is right for you. We are able to offer two private care packages.

Private antenatal care package

Enhance your maternity care with consultant-led continuity of carer for your antenatal period, with the option to request additional consultations if required. When the time comes, you will receive support from our CQC rated Outstanding NHS maternity team. Where possible your consultant will attend to provide support alongside the on-call team.

Private antenatal care and private elective caesarean birth

This option provides you with continuity of carer with an experienced consultant obstetrician and a private elective caesarean birth at the dedicated maternity theatre of the Royal Surrey maternity unit. A Shere Suite room will be booked for your recovery providing a calm, quite environment to enjoy the first days of parenting your new arrival. Our private room package also includes a natural pampering product gift set and postnatal care with our outstanding NHS maternity team.

Private Obstetric Consultant

Mr Osama Abu-Ghazza, a senior consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, provides our private obstetric care. With 17 years’ experience in obstetrics and gynaecology services, Osama understands the importance of continuity of care to guide and support you with your choices in pregnancy and childbirth. 

With a special interest in high-risk pregnancies and early pregnancy problems, Osama offers private obstetric care covering all areas of pregnancy from scanning and antenatal care to caesarean birth.
