Who will you make strides for?

Royal Surrey Charity’s sponsored walk, Stride for Cancer Care, is back for a second year on Sunday 1st October, raising vital funds to support people living with cancer.

Starting from Surrey Sports Park, there are a range of distances to choose from (5km, 10km, 15km or 25km) and food and drink stops along the way.

Last year’s event saw around 20 Royal Surrey staff step up for the challenge, including several of our oncology colleagues who took on the 25K walk with a group of colleagues. Vicki Mumford, Professional Director of Nursing and Cancer, said:

“What a wonderful day and experience. Good for wellbeing, good to catch up with people outside of work, where you’re not just having work-based conversations. Good to be outside and luckily not raining! It was brilliant. The hill at the end was horrible, but we giggled through it!”

In celebration of National Walking Month next month, our Trust charity is giving you £5 off the registration fee (usually £20) throughout May – just sign up by 31st May and use the discount code WALK5 at the checkout.

Thank you to CBRE for sponsoring this year’s event.
