In line with other Minor Injuries Units and Walk in Centres in Surrey, we are working to change the unit at Haslemere into an Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC). This is part of a national drive to simplify access to urgent care closer to home and you can read more information about this on the Surrey Heartlands website.
Across Surrey, changes will begin to come into effect from 1 April and patients will see services gradually enhanced over the coming months. At Haslemere we are working towards becoming a UTC but we still have some processes around the transition to complete. There will not be any changes to the services provided in April and the enhancements that come with a fully operational UTC, for example longer opening hours and the ability to see patients of all ages, will take time to introduce. We will ensure that we keep patients and the local community updated on any service changes as and when they occur.
For now patients should continue to use Haslemere MIU as they normally would and the opening hours remain 8am to 5pm, seven days a week.
If anyone is unsure of the best place to seek help they should contact NHS 111 who can help signpost to the most appropriate service.
