Better psychological support for cancer patients and their families is the focus of a project led by specialists at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust and University of Surrey.

The teams hope to help patients adapt to cancer and treatment, as well as improve staff wellbeing and confidence in their ability to provide high-quality care.

The project was one of 13 projects to receive the green light as part of a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style scheme where Royal Surrey staff pitched their ideas to improve the patient experience. It is funded by Royal Surrey Charity and University of Surrey, and has been supported by the Kent Surrey Sussex Academic Health Sciences Network.
