Congratulations to our maternity team who have won a prestigious national award for a digital resource that supports parents-to-be.
The Parent Portal, which provides information and resources about pregnancy and giving birth, as well as an online booking function for antenatal classes, has won the Patient Engagement and Experience category at the renowned Health Service Journal (HSJ) Partnership Awards.
The trust’s Maternity team worked in partnership with the Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) to create the simple but highly effective online resources.
The portal, which is accessible in 133 languages, has been spearheaded by Kate Conway, Matron for Antenatal and Gynaecology services, and her dedicated team.
Clare Cardu, Head of Midwifery, said: “The portal puts parents in control of their pregnancy, birth and postnatal information and educational needs.
“It provides evidence-based information that means that our prospective parents do not need to turn to the internet or social media for advice.
“The uptake by parents is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all involved to create this unique resource.”
This latest accolade comes after the trust’s Maternity department was rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.
Jo Mountjoy, Chief Nurse, added: “This recognition is a testament to the incredible partnership work that our Maternity team carries out with the MNVP to ensure that parents-to-be receive world class care that is centered on their needs.”
