Easter eggs for Hascombe Ward

Young patients on Hascombe Ward are going to have an eggs-citing gift on Easter Sunday, thanks to a generous donation from members of the Spirit Health Club at the Holiday Inn Guildford.

Jaco Heigers, manager of the health club, and Imogen O’Connor, receptionist, delivered armfuls of Easter eggs after putting the word out to members.

“We thought it would be great to bring a bit of joy to any youngsters who are spending Easter in hospital” said Jaco. “We suggested donating eggs for Royal Surrey’s children’s ward as an idea to our health club members and the response was fantastic, people were really supportive. We’ve collected nearly 30 Easter eggs and we’re definitely going to make this an annual event.”

Ellen Parker, Hascombe Ward Matron, said: “Thank you to the club for organising and to all those who kindly donated Easter eggs. We really appreciate this lovely gesture and our young patients will be delighted.”
