Accreditation sets Podiatry Assistants on the right footing

Congratulations to Podiatry Assistants, Miranda George and Ginny Hodgson, who have both received their podiatry assistant accreditation award and badge.

The award offers access to staff to become accredited members of the Royal Society of Podiatry.

Miranda and Ginny both spent a minimum of 500 hours in clinical training at band 3 and 4 levels. This also involves academic training, studying a wide range of subjects including anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and quality improvement.

Both colleagues completed a learning portfolio, including reflective practice case studies, and had to sit a two-hour exam, which they both passed with flying colours.

From this, Miranda can now take her career one step further and she has been accepted on the podiatry apprenticeship course starting in September.

Joanna Brown, Podiatrist at Royal Surrey, said:

“This is a brilliant achievement after a lot of hard work, improving their clinical knowledge and application and setting an exemplary standard."
