Radiotherapy at Redhill

Around 850 radiotherapy patients each year receive care closer to home at our satellite treatment centre.

We have two brand new state-of-the-art linear accelerator machines at our treatment facility based at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill.

This is run by a Royal Surrey team, including therapeutic radiographers, engineers, medical physicists and a review radiographer.

Our radiotherapy linear accelerators are routinely upgraded every 10 years and whilst not dissimilar to the old machines, having the lateest technology reduces the amount of time patients are in the treatment room each day.

The machines also have advanced imaging technology and feature surface-guided radiotherapy technology. This monitors the surface of the skin and makes it easier to position you correctly for your treatment.

The machines, which were installed in the summer of 2024, are nicknamed Robin and Kite.

From the main entrance the radiotherapy department is located in the pink zone at the rear of the hospital. As you enter the hospital WHSmiths will be on your right handside.
