Professor Ala appointed as Director of Research, Development and Innovation
We are delighted to announce that Professor Aftab Ala, who has been a consultant at Royal Surrey for the past five years, has been appointed as our Director of Research, Development and Innovation.
Aftab has many ideas for what he would like to achieve in his role. The Trust, in partnership with the University of Surrey, is currently, one of the few hubs in Surrey to deliver vaccine studies. Aftab would like to extend our partnership with the University of Surrey making it a University-based hospital, made up of a strong and diverse workforce.
He also plans to restart studies that were paused due to Covid-19, focus on innovation at our Trust through work with our Transformation Team, and to develop systems and pathways for excellent patient care and education of the workforce, all linking in to True North goals.
