Introducing our newest Research Ambassador

Sue Sjuve - Chair

29.8.2019

The Research and Development team are delighted to welcome Trust Chair, Sue Sjuve on board as the Trust's latest Patient Research Ambassador.

The role of ambassador is an important one and will see Sue visiting various areas of the Trust to discuss the benefits of participating in research and clinical trials with patients and members of the public.

In 2018/19 the Research and Development team recruited 2263 participants onto 79 individual studies so there's a lot to talk about. Part of Sue's role will involve introducing specific studies to people she meets, and to promote the general work of the Resarch and Development team to the wider community, so her first priority will be to ensure she is well informed about our research activity and opportunities.

Working closely with researchers and clinicians, Sue intends to be a proactive member of the Research team and has already signed up to participate in dementia research with 'Join Dementia Research'.

Sue said: "I am so excited to be working with the Research and Development team promoting their work throughout the Trust. We are privileged to be working with world-class clinicians and I look forward to sharing their ground-breaking research with potential participants who are helping to improve the quality of our services."

If you're interested in the role of Research Ambassador please contact the Research and Development team on 01483 688660 or rsc-tr.ResearchAndDevelopment@nhs.net.
