The Royal Surrey Foundation Trust is such an important and amazing asset to our area and I’m proud to be one of the public Governors for Waverley.
I put myself forward to be a Governor because I have had lots of personal experience of community health and hospital services, in relation to myself, my children and elderly parents for a wide variety of issues, particularly at the Royal Surrey County Hospital but at other hospitals too. I’m hoping I can give back a little by putting that experience to good use as a Governor. I am autistic and have ADHD and so also have an interest in hospital and health issues affecting neurodivergent people.
I am a corporate solicitor by profession and most of my career was spent at the London Stock Exchange, leading primary market regulations. I am currently it’s Complaints Commissioner. More recently I worked in the public sector at Sport England, ensuring good governance in organisations funded by tax and lottery money. I’m currently undertaking a Masters in Career Development and training to be a careers adviser in the sixth-form state college sector with the aim of guiding young people starting out on their career journey.
My career to date has centred on ensuring good governance and performance in organisations, challenging them to be their best and holding them accountable where they are not. I’m hoping to use these skills as a Governor.
I have lived in Waverley for over ten years – it’s a lovely community and I am privileged to be a Governor for the area. I aim to represent patients and carers by constructively challenging and supporting the Trust to be the best it can. Please feel free to get in touch with me at the email below if you think I can help.
