Guildford Public - Gillian Rix | Public Governors

Having worked in the NHS for over thirty years I am pleased to contribute for a 2nd term at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust.  As a Medical Secretary, I provided a communications link, including to General Practitioners, and telephone interface with patients for, successively, Consultants in Pathology, Radiology, Orthopaedics and Oesophagogastric surgery, also running a private Orthopaedic practice for five years. Additionally, I have experience in Public Relations/ Communications in the corporate, public and charity sectors, gaining a postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies from Kingston Business School.  In my 1st term I served on the Council of Governors’ Patient Experience Committee, talking to patients in clinic to provide feedback towards continued quality improvement. 

I am a member of my GP Practice’s Patient Participation Group. 

I live in Guildford and have two married daughters and five grandchildren; I sing with the local philharmonic choir – Vivace Chorus.
