Nutrition and Dietetics

Our department of Nutrition and Dietetics comprises of registered dietitians, dietetic assistants and administrators.

Our dietitians assess, diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems. They use the most up-to-date public health and scientific research on food, health and disease which they translate into practical guidance to help people to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.

Dietitians and dietetics assistants see a wide variety of patients. Within the department, we have teams that manage different specialities:

  • Medical dietetic team
  • Gastroenterology dietetic team
  • Diabetes dietetic team
  • Paediatric dietetic team
  • Hepatobiliary and Intensive care dietetic team
  • Oesophago-gastric team
  • Head and neck oncology dietetic team
  • Oncology dietetic team

Who is eligible for the service?

If you are having treatment at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust or have a GP in the local area you are eligible for our service.

How to access the service?

Your GP or doctor / clinical specialist nurse you are seeing at hospital can refer you to see a dietitian.
