Welcome Alexandra Ankrah, who has joined the Trust Board of Directors.
Alex has been part of the NExT Director scheme which matches suitable candidates with NHS Boards.
Alexandra is a former practicing barrister, who has worked across the health and public sector and has also held senior roles in the charity sector.
She started her career working as a Health Care Assistant and has worked in senior roles across Whitehall, leading national policy teams at The Home Office and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Alexandra was formerly head of Health and Social Care in the Cabinet Office.
She said: “I feel it’s a great privilege, as a Surrey resident to be able to work closely with the Royal Surrey.
“I bring high level experience of advising Boards and trustees on good governance, including charity and public law and ways of better involving patients and staff in service improvement.
“I have led regulatory and compliance teams in the public sector, and I have been a Board member in the cultural sector.
“I bring a passion for inclusion and transformation that puts people front and centre.”
