Congratulations to Justin Kirk-Bayley, Consultant Intensivist and Anaesthetist, Professional Director of Therapeutics and Clinical Lead for Intensive Care, and Andy Dargue, IT Infrastructure Project Manager, for winning a HTN Award for ‘Digital at the Point of Care’.
They were given the award for using mobile hardware from Ascom and security software form Imprivata, to save time and precious PPE during the peak of Covid-19.
The approved video capable solution, used during daily ward rounds throughout the first wave of Covid, meant fewer staff members needed to be at patients’ bedsides. The technology was also used to facilitate communication between patients and their family, friends and carers.
Justin Kirk-Bayley said: “The mobile technology was a fantastic investment for the Trust, however this is only scraping the surface of the capabilities; it is the beginning of some great technological changes for the future of our Trust.”
