Congratulations to our Practice Development and International Recruitment teams who have received the NHS Pastoral Care Quality Award for support provided to internationally educated nurses and midwives.
The award recognises the incredible work carried out at Royal Surrey to give enhanced and tailored pastoral care for staff starting out on their NHS journey.
In a letter to the teams, announcing the award, Ruth May, Chief Nursing Officer for England, said: “We look forward to seeing your excellent work continue and to hearing more about the colleagues you have supported and all that they will go on to achieve during their NHS careers.”
Royal Surrey’s Chief Nurse, Jo Mountjoy, said: “Congratulations to all the staff who have worked hard for this award. This is a huge achievement. I’m extremely proud of the fantastic support that the International Recruitment and Practice Development teams provide for our overseas nurses and midwives who are taking a big leap into the unknown when they first arrive at Royal Surrey.
“This award is an important recognition of the hard work, care and compassion that goes into helping our new recruits and looking after their health and wellbeing as they navigate this daunting step and continue to progress in their careers.”
This award is the culmination of work carried out by Amanda Brown, Associate Director, Resourcing & HR Systems, and other members of the HR team who set up our first-ever dedicated international resourcing team.
