Eve Fox, one of our Senior Midwives, is sadly retiring after 39 years of service.
Eve began her career at St Luke’s in 1981 and has been working for Royal Surrey ever since.
She has focused on helping women in the community, mainly in the Fairlands and Guildford area, delivering over 1,000 babies!
Over the years, Eve has taught and passed on her skills to students, as well as to doctors in Uganda where she spent a six-month secondment.
She is an experienced and dedicated midwife, who has continuously adapted to ongoing changes in midwifery through the years, and can always be relied on as a safe pair of hands.
Jacqui Tingle, Professional Director of Nursing and Midwifery, said: “I have worked with Eve since the beginning of my career and she has been fantastic since day one. Not only is she extremely hard working, but she is well known in the community and has brought many babies into this world – an amazing achievement.
“I know that I can always rely on Eve for outstanding work, but also as a friendly face who is there to have a chat when you need it most. I’m sad to see her go, but she has been an outstanding midwife and the lessons she has taught all of us will live on at Royal Surrey.”
