Blood testing is now available at Milford Community Hospital following the launch of a twice weekly phlebotomy clinic.
The clinic, which is part of plans to create a new Community Diagnostic Centre at the hospital, will initially be able to see around 120 patients a week before expanding further this summer.
Appointments will be available every Tuesday and Thursday between 8.30am and 4.15pm for patients with a referral from their Consultant or their GP practice.
Philippa Wood, Phlebotomy Manager, said: “Blood tests have a wide range of uses and one of the most common types of medical test.
“We know that travelling to Royal Surrey in Guildford during peak times can be challenging for some patients.
“We are delighted to be able to offer this service in Milford, one of Royal Surrey's excellent community hospitals, allowing us to offer testing to many patients closer to home.”
Blood testing appointments can be booked through the Trust website by clicking here.
Once completed the new Community Diganostic Centre will house CT and MRI machines, as well as offer X-ray, ultrasound and echocardiogram scanning.
