Royal Surrey Charity is urging people in Guildford and beyond to join the nation’s biggest tea break on 5 July and help raise money for the incredible people in our NHS who’ve done so much to help everyone get through the pandemic.
Following a year like no other, Royal Surrey wants as many people as possible to get involved in a national outpouring of love and thanks for NHS staff and volunteers on its birthday by hosting or taking part in an NHS Big Tea on 5 July.
Each event can be in person or virtual, with the community, friends, family or at work, and is a chance to reflect and say thank you for everything that NHS staff and volunteers have done and continue to do, by taking part in the nation’s biggest tea break to raise money for the Royal Surrey Charity.
Supporters can organise host their own Big Tea event by organising a traditional tea party or a cake sale. They can also show their support by simply taking 5 minutes to enjoy a tea break.
Sue Sjuve, Royal Surrey’s Chair, said:
“Covid-19 has had a huge impact on all of our lives and I have been so proud of the way my colleagues have adapted to the challenges they have faced over the last 12 months. They have worked tirelessly from minute to minute, hour by hour to save and rebuild lives.
“We could not have done this without the support, kindness and generosity of our local community.
“We are once again inviting you to show your support by raising a cup to our Royal Surrey heroes on July 5, by hosting your own tea party, cake sale or fundraising event. This will raise vital funds to ensure that we continue to support our frontline staff and transform care for those who need it.”
Many of us have a lot to be grateful to NHS staff and volunteers following the year we have had. They have been at the forefront of the response to one of the biggest challenges our country has ever faced. NHS Big Tea is chance to show our support for them by joining a national outpouring of thanks this July.
The Royal Surrey Charity supports the work of the Royal Surrey (Guildford), Milford, Haslemere and Cranleigh Hospitals, with a key focus on enhancing patient care within our local communities while ensuring NHS staff are fully supported with their vital life-saving work.
