Charity walkers lift the lid on their motivations

Last month (October) cancer patients, cancer survivors, Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust colleagues and those walking in memory of loved ones came together for Royal Surrey Charity’s annual sponsored walk, Stride for Cancer Care – raising £45,000 to support cancer care at Royal Surrey.

Sponsored by CBRE, 185 walkers joined the event, choosing from four distances – 5k, 10k, 15k or the ultimate challenge, 25k.

Participants talk about their motivation to take part on the Stride for Cancer 2023 video.

The money raised will make a huge difference to people living with cancer. As well as providing vital equipment, the Trust’s dedicated charity supports the redevelopment and refurbishment of wards to ensure the environment is welcoming and comfortable for patients, funds ground-breaking research, and invests in staff wellbeing and development.
