Claude Fielding, a valued volunteer at the Trust, has stepped down from his role at the grand age of 94. This follows his resignation of his role as a Governor at the beginning of the year.
Claude began his work at the Trust in 2012 as a volunteer helping patients re-tube their hearing aids. In 2018 he was elected as a Governor of the Trust to represent the local community’s interests and represent the Trust both locally and nationally.
Sue Sjuve, Chair of Royal Surrey, said of his contribution:
“Claude has been a fantastic asset to the Royal Surrey Family in his capacity as both a volunteer and Governor.
“I want to say a sincere thank you for all of his dedication, good humour, time and effort in helping ensure we are giving the best possible care to local people and listening to people’s needs.
“Although we are sad to see him leave and will miss him immensely, we think at 94 he has doubly earned his retirement!”
