Miss A Riga has been a Consultant HPB Surgeon at the Royal Surrey County Hospital since 2011.She graduated from the University of Athens. During her Post -Graduate training she worked in several HPB Units including the Royal Free Hospital, Kings College Hospital and the Royal Marsden. She spent 6 months as a clinical lecturer in Dublin and did a travelling fellowship at the Memorial Sloane Kettering Hospital in New York.She was awarded an MSc from University College London in Surgical Science for work on liver transplantation and reperfusion injury.

She specialises in open, laparoscopic and robotic abdominal surgery with special interest in liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen and small bowel surgery and upper GI endoscopy.

She is the Course Director of all the Royal College of Surgeons Accredited surgical skills courses at the MATTU and she is an accredited trainer in upper GI endoscopy.
