

Consultant clinical oncologist
Qualifications: MA (Cantab) MB BChir MRCP FRCR PhD
Dr Turner graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2008. He returned to his native Northern Ireland to complete postgraduate medical training and specialist training in clinical oncology. He completed his PhD as part of the advanced radiotherapy group in Queen’s University Belfast designing clinical trials investigating complex radiotherapy solutions in advanced prostate cancer.
He was selected for an international brachytherapy fellowship at St George Hospital Sydney, an Australian centre of excellence for brachytherapy and trained in the use of low and high dose rate brachytherapy techniques in a range of malignancies.
Dr Turner returned to the UK to work as a substantive consultant in Oxford University Hospitals specialising in urological malignancies and stereotactic radiotherapy. He has published extensively and presented his work at national and international meetings on the subject of radiotherapy/radionuclide combinations and on brachytherapy.
Dr Turner joined the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre in 2022 specialising in uro-oncology and stereotactic radiotherapy for lung and oligometastatic cancers. He is passionate about contributing to the impressive research tradition at Royal Surrey and in 2023 was appointed as lead of oncology research.
