Dr Sophie Otter is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in the treatment of prostate, bladder and colorectal cancers with both systemic treatments, radiotherapy and brachytherapy. She provides these services both at Royal Surrey Cancer Centre and also visits Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals so that patients can receive their treatment closer to home.
She studied Medicine at Cambridge University, graduating in 2004. Dr Otter undertook her oncology training at Royal Marsden, Royal Sussex and Royal Surrey Hospitals. Her research focussed on advanced image-guided radiotherapy and brachytherapy for cervical cancer to gain an MD(Res) at the University of Surrey. She became a consultant in 2019 and is Chief of Service for Oncology having completed an MA in Leadership at Henley.
Sophie is the PI on several prostate cancer trials at the Royal Surrey including PACE B and PEARLS and has many publications in peer-reviewed journals. She is passionate about providing holistic, individualised and cutting-edge care for not only her patients but for all patients who have their treatment at the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre.
