Dr Wood was appointed as a consultant in RSCH in 2007. She is a Consultant Radiologist and is the Chief of Service for Diagnostics and Clinical Support Services.
Her clinical focus includes paediatric imaging, coronary artery CT scanning and musculoskeletal imaging and she set up the coronary artery CT service at RSCH in 2008.
Dr Wood has previously served as a member of the Professional Support and Standards Board at the Royal College of Radiologists, as Clinical Director for Radiology at RSFT and as Chair of the SE2 Diagnostic Network Clinical Reference Group. She currently is Chief of Service for Diagnostics and Clinical Support Services at RSFT.
She is passionate about patient experience and equality of access to imaging, including creating an environment that supports children to access ultrasound who are shy, anxious or have special needs.
She is currently Co-Chair of Governors and governor safeguarding lead at a large comprehensive school.
