About

Dr Salmon trained at Cambridge and Addenbrookes qualifying in 1990. After an obstetric role she specialised in paediatrics, training in the SW Thames region.

She completed sub-specialty training in community paediatrics in London and SW Thames. During this time she completed her MSc at the Institute of Child Health.

In 2004 Dr Salmon was appointed to her consultant post at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust where she leads the Child Development service. This is a pre-school service for children local to the hospital area with developmental concerns and a service for older children with physical challenges such as cerebral palsy and other complex health needs.

Dr Salmon is involved in extensive MDT work with other services supporting children in the Early Years including professionals allied to Health, Education and Social Care. She also works in the Epilepsy service. She has a particular interest in the expanding role of genetic testing in children with developmental challenges.
