Dr Charmian Banks has been a consultant Gastroenterologist at the Royal Surrey since 2012. She went to medical school at Southampton University and completed her certificate of higher training in the South West London region. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
Dr Banks is the lead for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the trust and also has an interest in clinical nutrition alongside general gastroenterology. She has expertise in OGD’s and colonoscopy but also in feeding tube insertions such as PEG tubes and NJ tubes. She also trains gastroenterology trainees in endoscopy.
Dr Banks is on the on call rota for gastrointestinal endoscopic emergencies.
