Qualifications: MBBS (Imperial), BSc (Imperial), MSc (imperial) FRCS

Mr Read completed medical studies at Imperial College school of medicine in 2006. He undertook basic science research in pharmacology and toxicology and completed a Masters in surgical technology.  His postgraduate research and international publications / presentations are in early rectal cancer. He completed his national training number rotations in both London and Surrey.

 

After completion of training, and before joining the royal surrey as a consultant, he completed the royal college certified MiMICC fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and exenterative surgery and then the intuitive fellowship in robotic colorectal surgery.

Mr Read runs a weekly outpatient clinic, offers lower GI endoscopic studies and provides minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) colonic and rectal cancer surgery at the trust.  He also provides proctology, general surgery and covers the emergency on call with his general surgery colleagues.
