Qualifications: MBBS FRCOphth
Mr McLean completed his medical studies at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London. He then started his ophthalmology training in London in several teaching hospitals, finishing his training at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Mr McLean then completed further training with a Fellowship in Oculoplastic and Lacrimal surgery at Moorfields.
Mr McLean was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in 1999. He has set up the Oculoplastic and Lacrimal service at the Royal Surrey, treating a wide range of eyelid conditions and surgery to treat blockages of the tear drainage ducts.
Mr McLean has carried out several thousand small incision cataract operations. He treats all forms of eyelid problem including ptosis repairs, skin tumour removal and botulinum toxin treatments.
Mr McLean is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a founder member of the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society.
