Qualifications:  BMedSci, BMBS, FRCA, PgCert (MedEd), PgDip (Periop)

Dr Katy O’Rourke has worked in the NHS for 14 years, gaining experience in Advanced Airway Anaesthesia, High-Risk Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine before commencing her Consultant post at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust.

She is passionate about teaching, with a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Dundee and is joint lead for FRCA teaching in the Anaesthetic Department.

Dr O’Rourke has a focus on High-Risk Anaesthesia and has a Diploma in Perioperative Medicine from the University of Brighton. In addition to this, she is also the Anaesthetic Lead for Sustainability, aiming to reduce the environmental impact of Anaesthetic practice.  

Outside work, Dr O’Rourke enjoys spending time with her family and getting outside to appreciate the beautiful Surrey countryside.
