Qualifications: MBBS, FRCA, BSc (Hons), PgDip, PgCert
Dr. Kayur Patel completed his medical education at Imperial College London with honours in his BSc. His anaesthetics training in Surrey and London included specialist training at Guy’s & St. Thomas’, Kings College Hospital, and Queen Victoria Hospital.
As a participant in the Sir Bruce Keogh National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow Scheme, Dr. Patel excelled in quality improvement projects, leadership, and education. His patient-centric approach and commitment to enhancing the perioperative journey are evident through accolades from grateful patients. Dr. Patel is currently leading a quality improvement project, backed by charity funding, to enhance patient care. Utilising these experiences he now serves as TASQS (Theatre, Anaesthesia, Surgery, and ICU Quality and Safety Group) Chair.
Alongside his clinical role, he imparts knowledge as an instructor on national resuscitation courses and serves as a school governor. Dr. Patel is also a specialist advisor at the Care Quality Commission, contributing to healthcare governance and regulatory standards. Despite a demanding clinical practice, he maintains balance through family time and pursuits like football, running, and cycling.
