Dr Pathan completed his Medical Studies in India in 2003. He gained some experience in Intensive Care Medicine & General Surgery at the Breach Candy Hospital Trust, Mumbai.
He advanced his training and qualified with a Masters in Health Services Administration from the Midwestern State University, Texas, United States and later relocated to Mumbai and trained in Emergency Medicine in Mumbai. Dr Pathan completed his Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine in 2015.
Dr Pathan started his NHS journey as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine at the Luton & Dunstable NHS University Hospital in 2016. While at the Luton & Dunstable NHS University Hospitals, he completed his Fellowship at the Royal College of Emergency Medicine in 2017. Alongside this, he qualified with European Board Certification in Emergency Medicine in 2016. He has done his rotations in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine & Anaesthesiology between 2016 and 2020. He secured his GMC Specialist Registration in Emergency Medicine in May 2022.
Dr Pathan worked with United Hospital Bristol & Weston between June 2022 and September 2023, where he trained towards leadership roles within the NHS and successfully implemented education programs for Junior doctors and Emergency Nurse Practitioners.
Dr Pathan joined the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust Emergency Department team in January 2024.
