I have been the Lead Governor and Co-ordinating Governor for nearly three years and this involves my taking a very active role in the activities of the Council of Governors.
As an elected public Governor for Woking for eleven years, I have undertaken a variety of roles including Chairman of the Governors’ Patient Experience Committee, Member of the Hospital Infection Control Committee, Member of the Nominations Committee, and various other interesting roles associated with quality of patient care. The role also involves listening to patients and representing their views to the Board (which I attend on a regular basis).
I continue to be inspired by our hardworking and dedicated staff who strive to provide an excellent quality of care for all patients.
I am a retired molecular virologist/medical microbiologist. Prior to retirement I worked for the Wellcome Trust, the Chief Scientist’s Group and headed up the U.K. Rabies Research and Diagnostics Group.
