Our aim is to provide parents with private maternity care that can be individually tailored to meet the needs of the pregnancy. Parents can feel secure with the knowledge that they will be offered continuity of care throughout their pregnancy by an experienced consultant obstetrician.
Appointments can be arranged at times to suit you and there is direct access to the consultants’ secretaries if any queries arise.
Mothers can choose from three different care packages.
Mothers who are booked for an NHS birth at The Royal Surrey County Hospital may choose to have private antenatal care. This option provides continuity of care during the antenatal period with direct access to the consultant for additional queries and the option to request additional consultations if required. Attendance at the birth cannot be guaranteed due to the unpredictable nature of spontaneous labour and NHS commitments that cannot always be changed. However, mothers who have been having private antenatal care will inform the consultant when they go into labour, and so whenever possible the consultant will attend to provide support to the NHS team providing her care for labour and delivery. Patients booking for private antenatal care will be able to book a private room for the postnatal period in the hospital and partners will be welcome to stay. Information regarding the private rooms will be provided by the maternity matrons.
This option provides continuity of care during the antenatal period with direct access to the consultant for additional queries and the option to request additional consultations if required. A date will be booked for the birth and the option to have a natural caesarean is possible. The Royal Surrey Hospital will provide midwifery care and inform the consultant if under their care to attend the hospital out of hours. All out of hours care is provided by the NHS. Mothers booking for a private birth will be guaranteed a private room for the postnatal period in the hospital and partners will be welcome to stay. Information regarding the private rooms will be provided by the maternity matrons.
Mothers who have had antenatal care elsewhere or have already been counselled regarding birth by elective caesarean section can book the delivery only package, however this option is subject to availability.
Information regarding private rooms for the postnatal period will be provided by the maternity matrons.
