Complimentary Parent Education Classes & Events
Birth and Beyond Complimentary is recommended for all women/ birthing people and their partners registered with Royal Surrey Maternity. This free service covers the essential elements of pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period.
When you book a course it will appear in the Upcoming Courses Section of your Profile page. From there you will be able to review course information and access any links. If your course doesn't appear in your profile or if you have any questions about our free classes and events please email the education team at rsch.birthandbeyond@nhs.net

Summary
This free in person or virtual pregnancy event is facilitated by our Specialist Education Midwives for first time parents and expectant parents who are new to our Maternity Services.
We recommend you attend this event with your birth partner from 12 weeks of pregnancy* to receive relevant information about our Maternity Services and meet other expectant parents.
During this Event you will be able to;
- Meet and network with other local parents due around the same time as you
- Meet our Birth & Beyond Midwives and to ask questions about our education services
- View a virtual Maternity Unit tour (Delivery Suite, Midwifery Led Unit and the Postnatal ward) with live in person commentary and the opportunity to ask questions
- Learn about our Maternity Services and how to access relevant support such as the Jasmine Team, Birth Reflections, Birth options Clinic
- Explore your birth place options
- Learn the importance of your baby's movements and how to monitor them
- Learn when to use the Call a Midwife Advice Line
- Collect a 20% discount code to use when booking a Complete course (expires within 48hours from the date of the course).
* Tickets admit one pregnant woman/person accompanied by one birth partner. Spaces are limited so please only attend this event once between 12 and 25 weeks of pregnancy if this is your first baby or you are new to The Royal Surrey Hospital (not birthed with us before).

If you are not able to attend. Please cancel your space to allow someone else access. Repeated non attendance could result in the the removal of class access.
Meet at
Virtual Session: Via Teams. The link will become available 30 days prior to the workshop. It can be found to the right of the workshop name in your "Upcoming courses" list on your profile page. You will need to be logged in to your account to access your profile page.
In person session: The Parent Craft Room, Antenatal Clinic (Out Patients 1), The Royal Surrey Hospital GU2 7XX
Please note that due to security reasons the Antenatal Clinic is locked outside of working hours. Please wait in the corridor outside of the clinic entrance. A midwife from the Education Team will come and meet you at the doors and sign you in just before your session's start time and will remain to let in latecomers until 10 past. A notice to this effect will be posted on the door.
The Royal Surrey Hospital operates a paid car park.
